Cross-dressing Eagles

This is a very poor photograph of Eddie the Eagle (aka The Budgie), who, for some reason best known to himself, has become a not very feminine version of Mother Goose, or perhaps, Jemima Puddleduck.

Fed up with his unadorned brassy glory he opted for the 'lacy' look.   The Rector has misgivings,  The rest of us hysterics.

Sadly his fetching little bonnet will have to be removed after 12th Night.

Am trying to think of something extra special to add to his/her wardrobe next year.

  1. Poor budgie. How undignified. Glad you are feeling a bit better!

  2. Not at all Jean. I'm pretty sure I caught him casting some proud birdie glances in the mirror as he flew by.
Am feeling fine again now. Back to what passes for normal with me. Thankyou.

  3. I think that is rather a dynamic photograph. A most excellent angle. Good talking with you yesterday, you brassy woman, you.

  4. Hi Constantina, Good to see you.
The angle was largely dictated by my height (or lack of same), but has caught his fierce look rather well hasn't it.?
A pity I'll have to remove his finery today.

  8. Doesn't he just Theanne? I have now removed his headgear so he has a long wait for his next cat-walk? debut.

  9. Dear Ray,
I'm wondering if you, too, have been ill. I've been under the weather with an infection for the past three weeks. I'm better now and so I've visiting my favorite blogs. I'm sorry to have been gone for so long, but I hope now to read and comment daily and so to keep up.

I viewed the photo of the "budgie" after I read your posting and broke into a smile. What a sense of humor you have.

    Peace.

  10. Sorry to hear you've been 'struck down' but glad to know you are better now.
Yes, I did get a very heavy cold which, than heaven has now departed.
Glad you enjoyed the budgie. I felt sorry for him with that massive heavy old bible on his back all the time and not even a 'party hat', so loaned him one.
He has asked for something more in keeping with his status next year.
    We'll see.!
